This only hurts you, since it will reset the 7 year clock. Just like Why Chat said. The best thing you can do for yourself is get the degree. You can still get student loans for next year, they are guaranteed by the Federal govt. and your credit isn't considered, as long as you stay registered each term for full time (usually 12 credits) they will loan you enough to get by. They are absolute morons for suggesting you drop out of college to pay this debt. Don't even talk to them. The next time they call, HANG UP! Also, when you graduate, you can get deferments if you can't find a job right away (they will be marked as 'deferment' on yourt CRs, but that will be taken off as soon as you start paying). You WILL need to pay back the student loans however, they don't have a 7 year clock, and will remain until 7 years after they are fully paid.
