A civil lawsuit filing is a public record, but I’ve never heard of that being reported before. I’ve been sued twice, both dismissed, in a major municipality, and never had anything reported. Kind of makes me wonder, if your creditor pushed this information to the attention of the bureau for a little extra leverage against you. You might want to wait for resolution, then when you prevail or have it dismissed, dispute it as not yours.
