difference between high balance and balance?

I recently acquired a copy of my credit report from Experian. They have a section that states balance and high balance. In my balance section is $0, in my high balance is $978. This account is noted as charged off but I paid it out. Can anybody tell me what the high balance is? Are they trying to say it's not paid?
