regarding settlement....help

I am in dept with MBNA of $6,000 and want to settle with them. I told the company that i am willing to pay 50% withing 3 months but they said no way.....75%.....what
should i do?

Also, 5 years ago, i purchased a car and during the 5 yrs. period my payments were all on time. At the end of the loan, a rep. call me and stated that i am in dept of late payments. The total amount accumulated to $1,500. To my supprised i was late because the loan company had the wron ss# on file. Because of this i was always late....that should i do?
