Bankruptcy

If I am considering bankruptcy chapter 7. Do I need to be a resident of that particular state the time the debts were accumulated by the credit cards. If yes, and I do not live in that particular state anymore, what should I do.
Also regarding proving residency, are there any items that I might use besides driver licence.
