I've been having problems with a debt that is over 20 years old. I took out a loan in 1987 with a company named IT&T. I went and had the loan insured in case I couldn't pay because of getting hurt on the job. Anyways, to make a long story short I was injured on the job and when I tried to collect on the insurence policy the IT&T said that before I could collect I needed to make a few more payments. I made the payments and filled the paper work out. I didn't hear anything for around 5 or 6 years and all of a sudden I'm being hounded for their money. I went through the process of trying to make right with the insurence company and they claimed that it was past the time limit to file for the insurence policy and they wouldnt't honor it. What can I do?
