Judgement

I had a judgement against me for $2000 in 1992. I have just recently been contacted both at work and at home to the degree of threats of garnishment. If I start making payments of $100 a month will they still seek wages from my employer? Do they have a right to dictate the amount that must be paid and time line to do so?
