Whychat: Received 2nd summons please help

Ok now I received a 2nd summons from Malen & Assoc. on behalf of Portfolio Recovery Services. I have been going back and forth with Portfolio for months. They sent me a letter stating that they could not validate the debt and was sending it back to the oc. Ok so how did it end up in the hands of a lawyer who is now suing me on there behalf. I received a letter from the law firm on August 15, 2003 which I disregarded because PRA said they resolved the debt and attached the documents, which there was nothing attached. In the letter it stated that I had 30 days to respond to the inquiry in which the letter was dated Aug. 12, 2003. Should I send a validation letter now? Need your advice badly....
