This sounds to me like you have to take this up with the landlord. Did you leave a forewarding address for all damages and charges to be accessed. You need to find what was in your contract with you and the landlord about what he can or cannot charge. If you left without leaving a forewarding addresss so he can reach you to send you for any bills or damages he might notice during cleaning or after the bill, then if he is like a lot of landlords, he just assigns it to a collection agency, let them make a notation on your credit report and then force you to pay him to have it removed.

If your leasing contract says that bush trimming services and landscaping were to be done by the landlord and that you were not responsible for the maintenance of the grounds, then you have a case for fraudulent billing. It depends on what your lease said. The collection agency will take any account regardless of whether it was valid or not.

If you believe that the charges are bogus, then you will have to take it up with the landlord who is the original creditor, dispute it with him, or take him to court. Or he will take you to court.

I wish you luck.
