If you are SURE you need to file BK, then you may wish to do it right away, you do not need the pressure of creditors harrassing you for the next 3-4 months or more, and you do not need to risk having any of them file for a judgment.

If you DO wait 2-3 months, try to pay off any small store or credit card accounts in full so that you do not have to include them in your BK,as long as you don't use them again until at least 60 days after final discharge.

You MAY be able to use "poor man's BK" if you just stop paying on SOME of your accounts, and are "judgment proof" you can possibly avoid BK, especially if only you, and not your spouse have the accounts in your name.
