Why Chat & Drew, thank you so much for your help. My lawyer kicked some serious butt yesterday, the judgment is being vacated and a letter of apology is being sent to me by the law firm that sued. Interesting that as soon as my lawyer pointed out that not only was I improperly served and the judgment an attempt to double bill, but that he had proof (in the form of a certified mail receipt) that both the OC and the firm KNEW that the OC already had a lien against any settlement I may receive, the firm changed its tune pretty freaking quickly and agreed to everything he asked for. Thanks again. I lurk here a lot and have gotten MUCH wonderful advice from this board.
