Rrturn the mattress to the store. I beleive you have three business days to cancel a contract. As long as you have a reciept and return the merchandise they cannot file charges against you. It was a defective mattress, not up to the quality that you expected and you have a grace period to return the item. But talk to a lawyer first. No you cannot go to jail for this. They are just lying to you. Just return the mattress, write a letter certified registered reciept and notify them that you are unhappy with the mattress and that you are returning it and that you put stop payment on the check. Make note in this letter that you tried to contact the district manager but he did not return your phone calls. And return the mattress. Do you have the reciept. Make copies of everything.
