Opting out is denying permission to the credit bureaus to sell your data for "marketing" purposes.

This is where you get all the offers for sub-prime credit cards etc The slime garbage collection agencies also buy this data and use it to try to collect on stale debts or debts which are not yours, but have a similar name or address, they delight in "poisoning" your reports when they see you applying for mortgages because they know you will pay without challenge in order to close.

Here is the #
1-888-567-8688)  The Big 3 Credit Bureaus now use the same telephone number-- (1-888-567-8688) or 1-888-5-OPTOUT. If you call one, you are opting-out with all 3.
