They apparently will have no LEGAL responsibility for your debts, however they WILL be harrassed by the credit card company and collection agencies, unless you provide a forwarding address to the credit card company. In addition, as most credit card companies are international, this debt will likely be transferred to their European collections division, where you will likely not have the same consumer protection you enjoy in the US. Also, if your mother, who is on your car loan is in the US, there is NO doubt that she will be contacted also.
