I live in Illinois and have a large amount of credit card debt. I am pretty much keeping up with most of them, but I owe $11,000 to MBNA and $10,000 to Sears Mastercard. My husband was out of work for several months and we got behind. The minimum payments on these two are too large for us to handle. I've been sending them $50 each month, but I'm sure that these two account are about to be in charge off status soon. My understanding is that MBNA is particularly quick to sue. We don't really have any equity in our house (we refinanced about a year ago), so the only way for them to get money is by wage garnishment. Both of these accounts are in my name only.

My question is this: Since I don't bring home enough money for them to garnish my wages, can they garnish my husband's wages? Any information you have regarding this would be appreciated.
