need some advice b-4 court date Oct 7th

I am currently temporarily layed off....My wife and I have 2 automobiles which are in her name...we owe 5 more years on our home which is in my name .....Ok here is what happened i was summons to court by CapitalOne in a civil suit for the amount of $1,437 dollars .....I'm thinking about not even showing up ......because i have not got the money for the court cost let along the balance on the credit card .....#1 What will happen if i dont show up for the court date ??????What can happen to me legally if i dont show up.......I have been told that the judge will give CapitalOne the Judjement automatically....what can CapitalOne do to me once they win the judgement.....Can they have you put in Jail???surely not! can they seize one of my wifes vehicles..... I mean there in her name? will someone please give me some answers please.P.S I'm in the state of Tennessee
