Thanks for the information....we don't have any assests (stocks, bonds, investments, etc.) and my husbands name is not on these credit cards. The only assest we have is our house. The mortgage is in my husband's name, but the deed is in both our names. We refinanced about a year ago, so I know that there isn't enough equity in the house for them to get their money.

What is a hardship letter? Is it a specific form or do I just send them a letter explaining our circumstances? How specific do I get, do I tell them what our income is and what our other expenses are? Thanks again for the info. I really appreciate the help.
