You can't use the date the judgement was entered to determine if it was in SOL or not.

SOL needs to have expired before they served you with the lawsuit. If you were not personally served papers maybe you can appeal but many courts have provisions that allow a Process Server to leave papers attached to the door of your "last known address" and consider you "served" (I know it's BS but I didn't make the rules).

You mention the last payment you made "on time" was 5/2000. Was this the very last payment you made to them or did you make late payments afterwards? If you did, then you need to base the SOL date on the last payment you made.
