I live in MI. I just received a copy of my credit report. I have various cards in charge off/collection status. The last activity (payments made by me) on ALL of the accounts was December 1999. On my credit report the "date reported" varies from 7/01/2001 to 9/11/2003. My understanding of the "date reported" is "the last date when any activity in this account was shown. Activities include payments, credit card billings, etc". (This is transunions definition-I have the 3 in 1 credit report but am going to get individual ones). I was under the impression that re-aging of accounts is illegal. Can I dispute the DOL with the 3 credit agencies? Thanks to both of you for all of your great advice!
