Have I reopened a past due debt?

By surprised and unbeknonst to me a levy was placed on all my Bank accounts and the before I could defend myself, the Judge granted all my money to the Plaintiff's. I submitted a Motion for Reconsideration. During this the Plaintiff called me and demanded I make a payment towards the interest due because the money in my Bank account didn't cover what is owed. I sent them a check for $25.00. My case is still open to the Court, I have since found out that the SOL had run and I should not have sent that payment for $25.00, by doing so, I have reopend this debt and the SOL is now in force. Please tell me this is not true, Did I make a huge mistake by sending that check?
