Was the 1099 issued AFTER you husband died? How are you handling that issue? Write a letter to the IRS, fraud investigation department,the FTC, and your State Attorny General's Office. Give them the full details including the dates of your husband's death, the date of the 1099, (include the ss# on the 1099 for id purposes) Give them the name, address and tel # of rep from citicorp and copies of any dunning letters you received. They have been doing this to others, issuing 1099's and then trying fraudulently to collect on forgiven debt.
