Here's my dilema. I am crrently in the process of getting approved for a stated income home loan.

I have been working on my getting my credit cleaned up for the past two years. I have made tremendous progress, Equifax 697, Experian 627, Trans Union 645. But here is my problem, Equifax has removed all the incorrect information from my account, thus the higher score. Experian still has a "collection" listed that should no longer be there.

The collection is from 1999. It is for 194.00 for late fees for an instrument we rented when my son was in 4th grade. I returned the instrument and disputed the late fees but the account was turned over the collection agency. As I mentioned before the tradeline was removed from Equifax but still remains on Experian, I'm not sure about transunion right now because they blocked me from reviewing my online statement because they couldn't "verify" me. But anyway....the question is how should I move on this? In the past I've made offers to settle as long as they remove the item from my credit or update as paid as agreed but I never got any response. Please help....I want to make one last effort to take care of this before I have to pay it without it getting resolved.

And if I pay it will they report it again to Equifax even though it was removed.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
