I received a judgement for the amount of $750.00 in 2000 for a charged off credit card ( in state of VA). I was never served because I was living out of state at the time (Moved to CA). I found out about this about a year later (when I visited home). Since then, I have paid nothing. I am now willing to pay for the judgement amount.

Questions:

1. Do I contact the courthouse or the original creditor? Is it possible for me to negotitate the payment amount (I'm sure they've added lots of interest)?

2. Is it possible that I can have this removed from my credit report after paying on the basis that I was out of state at the time & was not served?

3. Why do you think they have not tried to contact me about this judgement?
