No, they can not, go to your State's page on my website, it should have the statute for the "cause of action".That is the date that the creditor was FIRST entitled to sue,(your first default date)
You say "now they are saying" in hat manner are they "saying" this? Certainly not in any legal witten reply filed with the Court.

You can file an ammended answer stating that you are countersuing for FDCPA violations and abuse of process, and request that the Court sanction them for improper and frivolous claims.
