I posted a message about the SOL on legal board, citing departure from a site and the creditor finding you beyond the SOL and trying to get the money through litigation. This is the response I got from one laywer:

>>>I have seen criminal codes that toll the SOL if the person leaves the state, so it may very well be for civil claims. If you get sued all you can do is agree to pay if you owe it or fight the SOL as expired with the law you know, and the court will make a determination if you are right.<<<


So, in the final analysis I guess it depends upon whether or not you want to risk the mood of the judge. It's a 50:50 crap shoot, plain and simple.
