Aside from disputing the debt, there is an apparantly solid FDCPA violation by the collection attorney. He twice threatens legal action will be taken if payment is not made within one week. He also indicates (properly) that you have the right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the letter.

Legal action cannot be taken until the 30 day dispute period has expired. By demanding payment within one week of the letter (and doing so twice) is a violation of the FDCPA.
