I was behind on my mortgage payments and did a work out plan for 9 months to pay my regular payments of $2013 plus additional late payments of $627. I kept up the payments for 6 months and could not make the payments in August. Now they are proceeding with the foreclosure. I requested a payment assistance since my pay was reduced 30%. I kept asking if there is a sale date and I just found out today that there is a sell date of 10/22/03 which is only 10 days away. They still have not approved the payment assistance. They said to call back on Thursday. What should I do? I don't want to sell my house. Should I file for chapter 13? The lawyers want $700 to$3000. I surely can't afford that. Any suggestions.
