does paying on debt reset sol??

All payments were made via western union quick collect or credit card, payments totalled $3000. Stopped paying when they tried to settle for more than half the original debt amount (when I had already paid 3/4 of it off!) Got them to stop bugging me with Validation request and estoppel. SOL of Original debt would be up in January. Does all those payments reset the SOL (beings that I never received anything in writing from the CA, and never sent a signed check, or anything else with my signature on it....) Just wondering because I want to sue them for a variety of FDCPA FCRA violations and I'm afraid they'll try to counter sue...
