Great read, thank you. The 'collections professional' surely wasn't reading from a script, one is so stupid as to commit that many violations of the human psyche, let alone laws, to writing. Well, we are talking about 'collections professionals'....

Still, the blather finely illustrates the inner thought processes - in a word, psychopathy - of the 'collections professional'.

Traditional thinking draws a distinction between the psychopath and the sociopath whereas many today use the terms interchangeably. The distinction is important. The psycho knows right from wrong as the jerk in this tale clearly does. The psycho knows he's taking a risk so he hangs back in the shadows, in this case hiding behind a telephone. Another layer of insulation - he thinks - is that he only 'works' for the company, the owner takes the first hit from legal troubles. So he thinks.
The sociopath neither knows nor cares about right & wrong. He's on the street kicking in debtors' doors, stealing their kids, burning their houses. Many times psycho and socio criminals work together, the psycho masterminding crimes, the socio executing them.

Psychopaths and Sociopaths, doing their best to make our world a better place. Both are vital, cherished members of the fine family of 'collections professionals'.
