This thread is a fascinating example of exactly why you should NEVER speak with a debt collector over the telephone. We couldn’t have asked for a better prop than Working Man who is a debt collector that has posted as Pete Shaw and Dumb Debtor on previous month’s threads to prove that there is NOTHING to be gained speaking with a debt collector on the telephone. Get caller id, and if you ever mistakenly pick up the phone and get a collector, HANG UP.
