There is nothing you can do in this case, except show up in court and make them prove that you owe it. You see, CA is a community property state and all bills become his bills for the most part. So yes, in a community property state, they can come after his assets and put a lien against your home even if you remove your name from it.

I would see if you can get an attorney. He might have to help you pay it.

There may be other options that I am not aware of.
