Wow, thanks Why Chat! the last payment I made to Providian was in January of 2002, then when I couldn't make a full minimum monthly payment, they wouldn't really work with me, and I was overwhelmed so I buried my head basically...it was the only way I could cope, I have a really low stress/anxiety threshold. Does this mean that I wouldn't even need to file a quitclaim in order to protect my husband? And there is no way that they could garnish his wages? They can't garnish mine, because I have none, nor do I have a bank account. Thanks so much for your help!!! I would like to negotiate a settlement with them...for sometime in the future when I can come up with a lump sum...like maybe my husband's tax return or something like that, but it hasn't been sounding like they would be open to anything longer than 10 days. Looking forward to hearing from you! PS Did you mean that even after they have a civil judgement against me, that they couldn't have a Sherriff take stuff from my home?
