They can't garnish her wgaes, and it's like Why Chat says about the other exemptions. If she lived in Florida, they would probably get a judment against her and take her car and garnish her wages, etc. One of the good things about Florida is you can file for bankruptcy and be exempt from just about everything. There are tons of people who move here soley to do just that.
