Depends on what state you are in. If you are in a non-community property state, they can't touch your wife's assets because it is the bill is in your name. Disability is exempt. Just make sure you show up for courts when they and don't miss the answering of the summons. You might try and get a lawyer who specializes working with disabled folk in dealing with legal matters. Your veterans administration should be able to refer you to someone.

Also veteran benefits are also exempt if you use the federal exemptions. ALso military retirement as well.

THe only thing that they can do is probably get the judgment, and put it on your report and it will probably sit there for however long it is allowed to remain.
