Those creditors are full of C-R-A-P !! You are in NO WAY responsible for your father's debts just becuase you notified creditors - what a load of hogwash they fed you ! They are NOT your debts and they cannot hold you responsible in any way. The debts of the deceased are paid out of the estate and handled thru probate. If there was no estate or the estate was insolvent, then creditors are flat out of luck and get nothing !

You send these cretins a copy of your father's death certificate and a statement that there either was no estate or it was insolvent and be done with it. Include a cease and desist letter too. Send everything certified, RRR and keep the paper trail.

There's not a damn thing they can do about it, they'll just have to eat the loss !
