If your father had an estate you will want to consult with a lawyer.

If the creditors put liens on the property, you will likely have to settle with them to be able to liquidate. They can also force the sale of his property.

Also, selling off the property knowing that money is owed against it (and you do know) is a form of fraud, and you could be pursued in some states.

You really should talk to a lawyer. Like anyone else here, I could be full of crap because I don't really know enough about your individual circumstances.
