Someone from the Michigan COllectioN Agecny Board just told me that ASSET does not need to be licensed in MI (or basically ANYWHERE) because they are the debt buyer and do not collect as a third party. My question is this - How can this be legal? A creditor should have a signed ontract with you. You had a contract with a creditor and they have already claimed the debt to be old and charged off and these peopel are reviving an SOL debt by becoming the new creditor...

SHOULD asset acceptance be considered a creditor and or shoudl they be licensed? And how do we fight them on SOL if they are claiming they are a new creditor for the debt??? Any help appreciated because we are looking into a class action against these schmucks.
