Never give out your address or work number to a Collection agency. Now they will more than likely sue you. You will have to do battle for them to remove anything. You see, they never believe consumers when they tell them the bill is not them. Collectors think everyone lies because they lie.

You will now have to write a letter back to the attorney saying you don't owe them anything and that you are requesting validation. You are going to have to make them prove it. They will not remove it voluntarily. You will have to fight them for it.

Dispute it with the Credit reporting agency as Not Mine and dispute with something specific besides that. Wrong dates. Wrong amount. Otherwise, they will simply verify it. Never tell them you need to have it removed to finance your house. THey won't until you pay them and then even then they won't.
