credit card with girlfriend ,lawsuit

A few years back we were living in Pa. then she moved to Flordia after our not to nice break up. I agreed to make the payments on the one card we still owed on like 3000.00 I was paying every month and then had a late payment show up one month .She freaks out down in Flordia saying its in HER name and its gonna hurt HER credit so without me knowing pays the card off in full! The card in HER name. Now I get a lawsuit letter that I must appear in Fla. for a civil trial because she is suing me for this money I SHOULD HAVE PAID SHE STAES ALMOST 4000.00 I couldn't afford to fly down there or even drive the way my job has been cutting this and cutting that I'm just about living? Anyway this is 3 years + later and a neighbor said a sheriff was at my door looking for me in Pennsylvania he told them I didnt live there anymore liek a good friend but they didnt give him a card or anything with a number because they said i was no longer there. Please tell me if Ican get arrested or whatever for this matter or any ideads or similiartroubles in your past .Thanks so much ,very nervous, John Doe
