This might be easier at a credit union than a bank. Open a share draft (or passbook savings if you use a bank and they still have them) with let's say $500. Wait a month and take a share draft loan (or pass book loan) for the amount you have in the account. They will hold that amount in that account until you pay it back. Take it for a year, pay it back in 4-6 months. You've started a credit history.

You can take it a step further and use the first "loan" to open another account in another credit union (or bank) and do the same thing.

Do it with three credit unions or banks in 1 year and you have three separate tradelines in the good in less than a year.
