Joint in tenancy protects the property from the creditors forcing the sale. I am not sure if they can put a lien on it. Some states they can't because it offers additional protection but other states they can. A lien cannot force the sale of the property but it must be paid before the title can be transferred.

If his name and social security are listed first (check with your bank) then he is primary. They can only touch your checking account after the judgment and after they have gotten a summary of accounts.
