A charge off is when a creditor no longer thinks they can collect the debt and charges it off on their records-and usually turns it over to a CA. They aren't going to write it off just 30 days after your last payment!
Usually it's 6 months, or 180 days after your last payment. That's when they figure they aren't going to collect the regular way.
You may be confusing the date of last activity. It is the last time you made a payment.
