I'm In Illinois. someone used my name as a co-signer. now the accounts are in collection. seem to be cc debt.
who ever did it also changed my home address to get the statements sent to him. he also changed my employer and everything.
I first found out a year ago when i was refinancing my house. my refi bank made me hold out the equvilent of the debt to secure payment. I was able to fight that bad account but it seems every 6 months another one pops up. now I have been denied a refi on my house because of this...
these scumbag collection agencies couldnt recievea fax if there life depended on it... I have faxed them the same formes 3 times. I now call back in an hour and make someone tell me they got it.... How can I get a handle on this and hopefully stop future coll agencies from buggin me...
