This dirty company is calling me, using the name Account Control Technologies regarding an account from University of Phoenix. My credit report shows that UOP charged off the balance. I am already paying for this with a Stafford loan, so there shouldn't have been a balance to begin with. I only attended school for 3 months and withdrew. The balance on my stafford loan was $1400, the balance UOP said I owed was $1400. It sounds like a duplicate to me. I didn't know about a balance at the school until ACT started calling me, then I got my credit report. I have told them on the phone several times that it is incorrect, that I am already paying on it through Sallie Mae. I told them to stop harrassing me and that it's not mine. They are not quitting. He said he can verify that it is correct because he has my SS#. I told him he could get that info anywhere, like a random credit report search. Anyway, I could go on and on, but I just need to know if I can do anything to get them off my back.
