I was told on another site to ask for Scott, aka the Camco killer!! this is what I wrote:
SOL in PA
What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania

I had a message when I got home from work today to call a toll free number (call was actually for my husband). I returned the call to a company called CAMCO. The man said he had obtained a Commercial Credit account that totaled over $11,000. He said he worked for the consumer and was willing to settle for the amount of $3,393.18. This loan was made some time in the mid 1980s for the amount of $5,000. The entire amount was owed but the loan company never filed suit. This doesn't even show up on our credit report. This man said it would be recorded as paid in full. I asked him if it would now show up on our credit report and he stated, "not unless we want it to, but why would you?" My question is this - is this still enforcable and what will happen if I don't send this in tomorrow morning? I knew I couldn't ask him because I'm sure he will tell me they will file suit for a judgement against us. Should I just pay it and forget it? I will need to put it on a credit card and I don't really want the extra debt right now.
By the way, this loan originated when we lived in Ohio. I know Ohio's SOL is longer than PA. We have lived in PA for almost 14 years.
