I recently received a letter offering a settlement on a balance that was paid over 6 years ago. I know for a fact it was paid. I can't find any statements from 6 years ago, and the bill was sent to says thats the only way I can remove this from my record. What can I do to have this taken off my record. Isn't there a time limit where a collector can't ask for payment?? No previous letters were sent. Only 3 after 6 years. Please help
