Help!!!! I needed some answers about cc debt

In live in TN and heres my problem, my spouse got a call from my banks saying that I had been pre-apporve for a visa card. without my knowledge she except the card, without my approve or signuage. the bank sended the card to our home and for a whole year I didn't know about the call or the credit card. my question is because my spouse said yes I'm responable for the card payments because the card is in my name and not her name. what can I do and will I get her into trouble if I refuse to pay.
