These vomit-bunnies might owe you money by the time you finish with their sorry carcasses.
Your account has been delinquent since 1999. Delinquency occurs when a payment due is missed and not made up regardless of subsequent payments or activity. If the account went delinquent in December of '99 then the SOL was up in December of 2002, almost one year ago. The debt is SOL, any lawsuit is time-barred, as 'experts' in their field these bugs cannot plead 'oops sorry' to the Federal Trade Commision and the AG of the State of Washington. If they sue you they are in trouble. You can countersue and collect damages.
By sending a letter demanding money for an SOL account they might have violated the law.Tell the FTC about this.
Indeed send WhyChat's SOL letter. If this is SOL you could also demand they validate the debt, which they of course won't. Another violation.
The SOL letter should scrape them off your shoe. Had they a judgement you'd not have received this polite little extortion letter. If they have a judgement you have another cause of action as you were not served when the suit was filed nor were you notified of any judgements. Contact the clerk of courts or check his website for civil filings under your name. It's not likely but still a good idea to check. When dealing with 'collections professionals' who live by the sociopaths' code: 'rules iz like heads - made to be broke' one can never be too paranoid.
Sounds as if you are in good shape. They cannot garnish wages without a judgement. They cannot get a judgement without filing suit and serving notice of same upon you. As the debt is SOL the harder they try the higher they will hang.

Tryingly,

Keyser Soze
