Option instead of joint account

To Why Chat: I know you said open a joint account with someone I trust, but what if I keep my account and only have enough for my monthly mortgage and car insurance where they already put a hold on those amounts when my check is deposited? The rest my credit union can deduct and transfer to my credit union account. None of my creditors have info on my credit union account.
