Since you have proof that the debt is past sol, your best move at this time is get a lawyer (you will get your money back- it is part of the credit card agreement)- and let them handle it .

I am not a lawyer, but I have helped many people with small legal issues (civil only- like not getting back security deposit) and I can tell you that the judges in these credit card cases are NOT impartial. The lawyers find a creditor friendly judge and forum shop - file all their cases in that court.

Even if you are 100% right, they will try to convince you that you are wrong. A lawyer will handle all this for you- eliminate the stress and financial burden of going to court- and get you back the money you paid to the attorney.

In addition, you might be able to file a countersuit- they can handle that as well.

Yes, you can do it alone. With the help of the experts on this board, I was able to help someone defeat one of these cases. BUT, it took a lot of time and aggravation and stress. Three trips to the courthouse. So, please get a consumer friendly lawyer and let them handle it for you.
